Father's & Mother's Day

Mother's Day
About a month ago it was Mother's Day and I was excited.  I was SO EXCITED that the week before Mother's Day at a bonfire with Matt and Stacie I announced that they had one week to figure something out.  A WHOLE WEEK forewarning... even though Mother's Day is not random since it appears on the calendar each year at the exact same time.  Anyways, I was excited.  Evan asked me what I wanted and I declared fish and a hanging flower basket.

As Mother's Day approached Evan announced he was not only going to make supper but make breakfast and lunch.  The excitement was building... so when the day actually came I had high expectations!  I got to sleep in until about 8ish which combated the yucky weather.  We missed breakfast and lunch time came.  Evan stood in the kitchen looked at me in the eyes and said "I'm panicking... chips and salsa?!" Okay, I'm not going to complain.  Next we went and bought flowers and they are the prettiest plants that I ever did see :).

To close out the night Evan whipped out some frozen fish.  Briggs and I watched in wonder as he laid the cooked fish on our plates.  He took a step back and slapped his forehead realizing he had not seasoned the fish and forgotten to make rice.  So we only had unseasoned  fish laying before us.  Oh well..  then he took a step back and mindfully thought about what the side should be... I could see the lightbulb go on.  He walked over to the cupboard reached for the top shelf and grabbed the Goldfish.  I probably looked like a fish with my mouth gapping open.  Evan took a handful and plopped it down on my plate and said "you loved themes!"

The most memorable Mother's Day meal ever... and Father's Day standards weren't going to be hard to be met :)

Father's Day
I raised his Fish Meal and provided him Ramen for lunch and a steak, homemade pie, and corn for supper.  AND a fire pit.  Winner, winner, steak dinner!

Christmas fun

Evan when you are week old you don't get out of helping put of the Christmas tree... or at least look festive!
Evan's favorite ornament is his hot dog from Chicago.  Gross!
Putting my ornaments on the tree.
Each year Evan and I will get Briggs's (and our other children) a Hallmark ornament that recaps the year.
This is also Briggs's first present.
Briggs was all about putting the ornament on the tree :)
"Three Peas in a Pod" - Briggs's first ornament and our family tradition.
Briggs dreaming about all his future Christmas adventures :)

Many Stages of Pregnancy

15 Weeks: Being 'that couple' to start asking THE question right after their wedding ceremony!  With due time, Abrahamsons :)
The size of an avocado at 16 weeks. And yes, I was that person not able to drive from work to home without having to secretly driving through the drive thru to get a McChicken!

The size of a banana at 20 weeks. Our good friends Matt and Stacie are expecting 6 weeks before us. Basically our kids (Spud and Lutsen) have no choice but to be best friends.
The size of a papaya at 22 weeks. Co-worker reassured me that I didn't need to go to a birthing class because I have probably seen enough cow births. Special moments at work with Spud.
28 Weeks: Evan and I were reminded how blessed we are with our small group family as they threw a baby celebration dinner and shower for the three expecting families! Words cannot express how much we appreciated it and how thrilled we are to bring Spud into such a a loving group!

The size of a large cabbage at 30 weeks. As the weeks go by, the dresses were getting shorter so it was time for a new wardrobe!!
And then things started to get BIG....
The size of a bok choy at 32 weeks. Spud's first selfie with his parents - he is not embarrassed at all
41 Weeks: The baby is not a fruit as he is over ripened at this point :) This was right before I went into the hospital to be induced.  Crazy that there is a 9.7 pound baby in my belly!

Bath Time

Bath time is always an adventure.  And today I captured it through the many faces of Briggs.

Briggs gets this face of "I think something big is going to happen."

Then he gets a smirk and starts conniving...

Finally he laughs out of joy that he has completed his mission of driving his mom crazy by pooping in the tub!

However, mom has the last laugh of wrapping him up in cute towels :)

Sunday Fundays

It's mandatory in the Jones household now to have a Sunday Funday which includes lots of snuggles, football, and sweatpants.  Briggs is loving the day with daddy :)
